Elections Elections are held every
October-November for the following year service and nominations for any
Officer positions are to be turned in by October 9, 2009, based on September 8th notice to members.
Positions are for 1 year minimum and the President position is for 2 years.
The goal of Chapter elections is to ensure that a qualified Board of
Directors is selected that represents the interests of the Chapter membership,
both competitive and social. Solicitation for nominees was sent out September
8th, 30 days before the October monthly dance when nominations will be posted
and announced. In addition, any member, in good standing, has the right to be
placed on the ballot, for election to the board, by presenting a petition,
signed by a minimum of 10% of all USA Dance Charlotte members. The petition
must include the USA Dance membership number of each signer and must reach
the nominating committee, by October 9, 2009. In order to be nominated for the Board, a
member must be in good standing and is expected to be actively attending and
involved in the local chapter. In addition to the specific duties assigned to
each position, a Board officer is expected to attend all dances for the
following year; assist in monthly dance parties and other chapter events by
arriving early to help set up the dance and stay after the dance to clean up.
A Board officer is expected to attend all Board meetings held every 60 days
and special meetings called for special events. For
